An hour grid is a large table, and in a table like that the keyboard is not a convenience but a condition: some people work without a mouse, others simply type faster than they can aim. So the grid was built as a table you can walk through with keys.
One Tab enters the grid, rather than one stop per hour. From there the arrows do the work: up and down through the hours, left and right across the columns. Home and End reach the first and the last hour, PageUp and PageDown turn to the previous or next day or week. Enter or the space bar opens a meeting on the selected hour.
The focused hour carries a clear ring, visible on both the light and the dark theme. Folded night hours do not swallow the focus: the keys skip them until the full twenty four hours are opened.
In Hebrew the grid is laid out right to left, and the arrows follow the direction of the screen rather than a fixed order. A screen reader is given the date, the hour and the name of the member of staff for each cell, and told whether it is free.
An accessibility check of the calendar screen, empty and filled, found no breaches of the Israeli standard ת"י 5568 at level AA.
