The “Office launch” card: the first five steps on the start page

The office owner now has a card on the start page with five steps of the initial setup, a progress mark and a link to the right screen for each step.

A new office opens on default settings, and what needs sorting out first is known only to someone who has been through it once already. The start page, above the list of leads and on the “Statistics” screen, now shows the office owner an “Office launch” card: five steps and a count of how many of the five are already done.

These are the steps, each with a “Open” button to the right screen and one line on why it matters:

The state of a step is worked out from the data of the office, not from whether the screen was visited. “Staff” counts as done once there are two or more active people in the office, and “sources” once at least one lead has arrived that was neither entered by hand nor imported. A step with no measurable sign is marked by the owner: “Keep as is”.

The order is fixed so that it is clear what comes before what, but the steps can be taken in any order. Once all of them are done, the card folds into a single line, “The office is set up”. It can be hidden earlier too, with a confirmation, and brought back from the help section with “Show the setup checklist”.

The card blocks nothing and does not ask for all five steps to be closed before work begins: leads can be taken from the first day. It simply says what has not been touched yet, instead of leaving that to memory.
