A trash bin for leads: reversible removal for 30 days
The office owner and a senior member of staff can move a lead to trash. It leaves the list, the statistics and the exports, is kept for 30 days and comes back with one click.
A duplicate, the office testing itself, or spam from the form should not sit in the working list, and erasing them for good is not right either: a week later the duplicate sometimes turns out to have been a real enquiry. The card now has a “Move to trash” action, available to the office owner and to a senior member of staff.
Before it runs, the confirmation says plainly what happens: the lead leaves every view, the statistics, the exports and the daily digest. It is not erased: for 30 days it sits in the “Trash” mode, a quick filter in the list of leads. There you can see who removed it and when, how many days are left, and the “Restore” button puts the lead back with one click.
After 30 days the lead is erased for good in the same way as erasure on request: together with the contact journal and the document register, with an entry in the access log saying the erasure was carried out. Nothing has to be done for that to happen, and the time in trash cannot be extended.
- This is not erasure at the request of the data subject. That action is unchanged, stays with the office owner alone and runs at once rather than after 30 days.
- While a lead is in trash it receives no quality loop events and does not change status. A removed lead affects neither what is counted nor what goes out.
- Removal and restoring are written into the access log by name: “Lead moved to trash” and “Lead restored”.
The trash is an in between state, not a second archive. It does one thing: it lets you take a lead off the screen without deciding at that moment that it is gone for good.
